Professional Summary
Bonita L. Marks, currently on leave, is a Professor in Exercise and Sport Science and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill. Prior to serving as the Exercise Physiology Graduate Specialization Coordinator from 2010-2015, she developed and led the Undergraduate Fitness Professional Track from 2006-2010. Dr. Marks also created and directed the Exercise Science Teaching Lab from 2000-2015. Her research interests include aging related exercise neurobiology, falls, obesity, and tennis. Dr. Marks is a member of a number of professional organizations, the webmaster for the American College of Sports Medicine’s Interest Group on Aging, and has been on the Faculty Advisory Board for UNC’s Morehead Planetarium Science Center.
