Dr. Erianne Allen Weight will be joining the Sport Administration faculty at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in the fall after serving as an assistant professor in Sport Management at Bowling Green State University for five years.  She earned her Ph.D. in Sport Marketing and Management from Indiana University, and her M.B.A. and B.S. in exercise and sport science from the University of Utah.  She was a heptathlete and assistant track coach at the University of Utah, and has worked in the sport industry in various capacities for fifteen years.  She is currently the Vice President of Finance for At-Bat-Stats, a statistical consulting firm; on the board of directors for Prana Fitness, a non-profit organization seeking to make holistic fitness affordable and within reach for all individuals; and she is an active consultant for Division I non-revenue sports.  Her research is focused on sport discontinuation decisions, non-revenue sport financing, Title IX, and the role of an entrepreneurial coach in intercollegiate athletics as she pursues the vision to increase opportunities for athletic participation and education.  She is married to Matthew A. Weight, a commercial pilot and former University of Illinois wrestler.  She enjoys spending time with her family, participating just about any type of athletic endeavor, and playing hide-and-seek with her three-year-old daughter, Aleah.
