The College Sport Research Institute (CSRI) is a nonprofit organization based in UNC’s EXSS (Sport Administration) department. The Institute involves faculty and sport practitioners from across the United States and around the world in an effort to support independent data collection and analysis related to college-sport issues. CSRI also sponsors the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics (JIIA), an on-line publication dedicated to the examination of interdisciplinary and interuniversity collaborative college-sport research.

In addition to sponsoring the annual CSRI Conference in April, the Institute seeks to engage undergraduates in college-sport research and internship opportunities. Students have the unique opportunity to assist master’s degree sport administration students and faculty as they conduct important research. Internship opportunities include paid sales positions and non-paid administrative and marketing assistantships. The networking contacts are invaluable!
