As a physiologist with an interest in cardiometabolic diseases and public health, my main research interests are: 1) investigating interactions between lifestyle behavioral factors and cardiometabolic risk, particularly in children and young adults; 2) the development of non-invasive tools for assessing cardiometabolic risk; and 3) translation of basic and applied science in to public health outcomes. I have extensive expertise in cardiometabolic health and function measurement, including noninvasive measurement and blood biomarkers. This expertise has played a pivotal role in studies examining the associations between lifestyle and cardiometabolic health in a range of clinical and non-clinical populations, including type 2 diabetes, stroke, overweight-obese children, and pre-adolescent children.
