CLINICAL STAFF
Scott Oliaro, MA, ATC, LAT
Associate Director of Sports Medicine, Head Athletic Trainer for Field Hockey, Head Athletic Trainer for Men’s and Women’s Golf
Scott Oliaro, took over for Dan Hooker as the Associate Director of Sports Medicine in 2013. Scott served seven seasons as Assistant Football Athletic Trainer and two as the Head Athletic Trainer for Football before becoming the Head Athletic Trainer for Field Hockey, and Men’s and Women’s golf in 2007. Oliaro assists the education program as a lecturer for both the undergraduate and graduate athletic training programs. He has authored several articles in various medical journals, including the Journal of Athletic Training. Oliaro has presented a variety of topics at national, district and local levels and serves as the program director and Board member for the College Athletic Trainer’s Society. Oliaro is a 1993 graduate of Cornell University where he earned a B.S. in nutritional sciences. At Cornell he was a three-year football letter winner, a two-time captain and a two-year Ivy League selection at tailback. He was inducted into the Cornell Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016. A native of Lansing, Mich., Oliaro grew up in Burlington, Vt. In 1999, Sports Illustrated named Oliaro Vermont’s 42nd best athlete of all-time. Oliaro earned a Master’s degree in athletic training from North Carolina in 1996 where he was also the Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for UNC Field Hockey’s National Championship team in 1995. Oliaro is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer and a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. In 1996, he worked the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Prior to coming to UNC, Scott spent two years as an assistant athletic trainer for American University and the Washington Capitals. He has obtained Medical 2 certification through the Titleist Performance Institute and is trained in Selective Functional Movement Assessment and Performance Enhancement Specialist. He and his wife, Jeri, reside in Chapel Hill with their daughter – Mia born in 2005 and son Tyler born in 2007.
Doug Halverson, MA, ATC, LAT, CSCS
Head Athletic Trainer for Men’s Basketball
Doug Halverson is the Head Athletic Trainer for the Men’s Basketball program. Previously, he has worked with Football, Women’s Lacrosse , Field hockey ,and Men’s and Women’s Golf . Halverson is a 2002 graduate of UNC, where he earned a B.A. in Exercise and Sport Science with a specialization in Athletic Training. While serving as a student athletic trainer from 1999-2002, he worked with the women’s soccer, volleyball, and track and field teams. He also served as the intern athletic trainer for the WUSA’s Atlanta Beat in 2001 and 2002. Following his undergraduate degree, Halverson continued his education at UNC, where he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working mainly with the Tar Heel football and men’s and women’s tennis programs. He received a M.A. in Exercise and Sports Science – Athletic Training in 2004. He has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since 2002 and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) since 2005. Halverson returned to UNC after working at Georgia State University, where his primary responsibility was coverage of the women’s basketball team and supervising graduate athletic trainers in the coverage of spring sports(2004-2005). Halverson is a native of Winston-Salem and currently lives in Chapel Hill.
Chris Hirth MS, PT, ATC, LAT, PES, CSCS
Rehabilitation Coordinator for Campus Health Service
Chris Hirth has served Carolina Sports Medicine for over two decades, currently as rehabilitation coordinator. He is responsible for the oversight, coordination and assistance of Carolina athletes undergoing post-surgical rehabilitation.In addition he provides rehabilitation services to UNC students and staff at Carolina’s Campus Health Services. In his tenure at UNC, Hirth has worked with the men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, gymnastics and track and field squads. He was the athletic trainer for the 2016 women’s lacrosse, 2009 men’s basketball and 2001 men’s soccer teams that won NCAA national championships.
Hirth earned his BS in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1989 and a MS in human movement science from UNC in 1994.Hirth is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the American Physical Therapy Association. Hirth is a native of Milwaukee, Wis.
He and his wife Anna, have a son, Blake.
Terri Jo Rucinski, MA, ATC, LAT, PT, CSCS with Remington, DOG
Head Athletic Trainer for Men’s Baseball, Coordinator of Physical Therapy Services at Campus Health Service
Terri Jo started her career at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2003. She is currently serving as the coordinator of Physical Therapy services at the James A. Taylor Campus Health Service and has been the Staff Athletic Trainer for the Men’s Baseball Team since 2005. Terri Jo worked with the Women’s Basketball team from 2003-2012, and also worked with the Track and field Teams as well as Cross Country Teams from 2003-2005.
Terri Jo specializes in rehabilitation of the shoulder and serves as a guest lecturer in both the undergraduate and graduate Athletic Training programs, with emphasis on the prevention and rehabilitation of shoulder injuries. She has a research interest in the shoulder, has been involved with several research projects at UNC, and has published articles in many refereed Journals. She has been involved with the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers since 1990 and has served on several examination development committees. Terri Jo is certified in Integrated Dry Needling through the Dr. Ma Institute and is also certified in Blood flow restriction rehabilitation through Owens Recovery Science.
REMINGTON joined Terri Jo in 2016, he is a Medical Alert Assistance dog for Terri Jo and a rehabilitative facility dog for the UNC athletes and campus health physical therapy patients. Terri Jo Received REMINGTON through paws4people®,Inc., a Wilmington, N.C., nonprofit organization that raises, trains and places Assistance Dogs with clients. REMINGTON assists with treatments, rehabilitation and emotional support for the athletes and patients and is a source of joy for all that meet him.
Terri Jo received her B.S., in Physical Education Teaching and Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in 1987. She went on to receive her M.A., in Exercise and Sports Science with specialization in Athletic Training from UNC in 1989. Terri Jo Worked in Milwaukee Wisconsin, at Froedert Sports Medicine, until she returned to the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in 1994, to pursue her physical therapy degree. She received her B.S. in physical therapy in 1996. She is also a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, receiving her certification in 1998. Prior to Terri Jo’s return to UNC, she worked in Madison Wisconsin, at the UW-Health Sports Medicine Center as a Clinical PT and was the Head Athletic Trainer at the Junior College in Town which is now known as Madison College.

Nina Walker, MA, ATC, LAT, CSCS
Head Athletic Trainer for Distance Runners, Head Athletic Trainer for Men’s Lacrosse
Nina Walker has been a staff athletic trainer at Carolina since 2006. Her primary clinical responsibilities are with the men’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s cross country/distance teams. She also serves as a clinical instructor for the UNC graduate and undergraduate athletic training programs. She is the staff liaison to the undergraduate observer program and currently lectures on topics related to manual therapy, electronic medical records and biofeedback.
Walker is a 1999 graduate of Boston University, where she earned a B.S in Athletic Training. Following her undergraduate degree, Walker attained a M.A. in Exercise and Sports Science with a specialization in Athletic Training in 2001 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working mainly with the Tar Heel volleyball and rowing programs.
Walker returns to UNC after working at Quinnipiac University in Hamden Connecticut. She served as the head athletic trainer for the men’s lacrosse and field hockey teams as well as an assistant adjunct professor in the Athletic Training and Sports Medicine program, teaching both Nutrition and Clinical Evaluation Lab.
She also volunteers for committees designed to promote the field of athletic training, such as the BOC Role Delineation Study Committee and CATA public relations committee. Her research interests include emergency management, lacrosse helmet removal and spineboarding. She has a strong interest in manual therapy and has lectured nationally on Positional Release Therapy. She has also obtained Graston Technique M1 training.
She has been an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since 1999 and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) since 2004. Walker is a New York native who currently resides in Durham, NC.
Luke Ross, MA, ATC, LAT
Head Athletic Trainer for Football
Luke Ross joined the athletic training staff in 2013 as a staff athletic trainer for football and fencing. In July 2017, he was promoted to the position of interim head football athletic trainer. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Boston University in 2006 and his Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science – Athletic Training from UNC in 2008. While earning his Master’s degree, Ross served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working mainly with the Tar Heel football and women’s rowing programs.
Ross returns to UNC after spending four season’s as the assistant athletic trainer for football at the University of Connecticut. Prior to his time at UConn, he also completed a year-long athletic training internship with the Carolina Panthers.
He is a proud NATABOC certified athletic trainer (ATC). Ross currently resides in Chapel Hill, with his wife Megan and their son Ben.
David Mincberg, MA, LAT, ATC, NREMT
Staff Athletic Trainer for Football, Head Athletic Trainer for Fencing
David Mincberg joined the clinical staff in 2017. His primary clinical responsibilities are with the football and men’s and women’s fencing teams.
Mincberg is a 2014 graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned a B.S. in Athletic Training. Following his undergraduate degree, Mincberg attained a M.A. in Exercise and Sports Science with a specialization in Athletic Training in 2016 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he also served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working mainly with the Tar Heel football and fencing programs.
Mincberg returns to UNC after working at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He served as the athletic trainer for the football and women’s tennis teams, as well as for the “Ralphie Handler” live mascot program.
He has been an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since 2014 and a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) since 2013. Mincberg is a Wisconsin Native who currently resides in Carrboro, North Carolina.
Christian Hunt, MA, ATC, LAT, PES
Head Athletic Trainer for Men’s Soccer and Men’s Tennis
Christian Hunt joined the UNC-Sports Medicine family as a staff member in Aug, 2018. His primary clinical responsibilities are with the Men’s Soccer and Tennis teams. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for the UNC graduate and undergraduate athletic training programs.
Christian graduated from Brigham Young University in 2014, where he earned a B.S in Athletic Training. After graduating, he worked for a year as the Head Athletic Trainer for the BYU Ice-Cats hockey team and was involved with the 2015 USATF Pan American Cross Country Championships in Barranquilla, Columbia. Following this time, Christian attained a M.A. in Exercise and Sports Science with a specialization in Athletic Training in 2017 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his graduate studies, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer working with the Men’s Soccer and Tennis programs, while also having the opportunity to travel to El Salvador with the USATF for the NACAC Track and Field Championships in 2016.
After completing his graduate work, Christian completed a 1-year Athletic Training fellowship at the University of Michigan, where he had the primary medical responsibility for the Women’s rowing program. He also served as a clinical preceptor for athletic training students from Concordia and Adrian colleges.
He has been an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since 2014 and a Performance Exercise Specialist (PES) since 2016. Christian currently lives in Carrboro with his wife Jennifer and their daughter Grace.
Emma Spisak, MS, LAT, ATC
Head Athletic Trainer for Sports Clubs
Emma Spisak is a 2015 graduate of Boston University, where she earned a B.S. in Athletic Training. Following her undergraduate degree, Spisak earned a M.S. in Athletic Training in 2017 from the University of Kentucky. She served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer off-campus, coordinating care for all athletics programs at the largest public high school in the state of Kentucky. Her graduate research focused on identification, prevention, and treatment of chronic ankle instability in athletes.
Upon graduation, Spisak returned to Boston for a one-year Athletic Training Residency in Orthopedics & Diagnostics at BU. There, she worked with women’s rugby, women’s rowing, men’s soccer, and men’s and women’s track and field, while also completing a rigorous didactic curriculum.
Spisak joined the Sports Medicine team at UNC in 2018. She coordinates care for Sports Clubs, and serves as a liaison between Campus Health and Campus Recreation. Spisak’s clinical interests include evaluation and diagnosis of the lumbopelvic and hip regions, muscle physiology and rehabilitation, and manual therapy techniques. She is trained in dry needling and has lectured at regional conferences on therapeutic cupping.
She has been an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since 2015. Spisak is a Massachusetts native who currently resides in Durham, NC.
Brandi Schwane MA, ATC, LAT
Head Athletic Trainer for Women’s Soccer and Rowing
Brandi Schwane joined the UNC staff as an athletic trainer in the fall of 2018. She oversees the clinical responsibilities for the women’s soccer and rowing programs.
Schwane earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Exercise and Sports Science with a specialization in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009 and 2011, respectively. As a graduate assistant athletic trainer, she worked with the men’s soccer, men’s & women’s tennis, and fencing programs.
Prior to joining UNC, Schwane was a part of the athletic training staff at William & Mary from 2011-2018, working with men’s and women’s basketball, track & field, football, and cheerleading throughout her time there. She also served as a clinical preceptor for students from Western Carolina University’s Athletic Training Educational Program.
Schwane is a North Carolina native that currently resides in Durham, NC with her husband and two sons.
Kelly Flemming MS, ATC, LAT
Head Athletic Trainer for Cross Country and Track and Field
Kelly just started as a staff athletic trainer the summer of 2018. Her primary clinical responsibilities are with men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s track and field.
Fleming is a 2009 graduate from Gardner-Webb University, where she attained her B.S. in athletic training. After undergrad, Kelly went on to the University of Alabama where she obtained her M.S. in Sports Management in 2011. She served as the head athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s swim and dive team.
Ms. Fleming worked at the University of Florida as the head athletic trainer for the women’s gymnastics team before coming to UNC at Chapel Hill. Kelly’s interests include manual therapy, active release technique, graston technique, and running mechanics.
She has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since 2005 and is a Georgia native.
Kelly lives outside of Durham with her husband Andrew and their dog, Lady.
Dan Hooker, PhD, PT, ATC, LAT, SCS
Retired, Staff Physical Therapist at Campus Health
Dan Hooker served the University of North Carolina as an athletic trainer and physical therapist since 1972. Most recently he was the Associate Director of Sports Medicine. He is presently retired and works part time as a physical therapist for the Campus Health Service. He provided athletic training coverage for most of the Tar Heel sports teams. He was the program director for the Graduate Athletic Training Curriculum from 1975-1979. Hooker earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Medical College of Virginia, 1967, Master of Science in Education from the University of Southern California, 1971, and his PhD in Education from Carolina in 1981. He has been an American Board of Physical Therapy Certified Sports Physical Therapy Specialist since 1987 and has served the Atlantic Coast Conference Sports Medicine Association as President and as Secretary. He has contributed to several textbooks providing chapters on the rehabilitation of the spine, electrical modalities, compression devices, and traction. Hooker was involved in the research activities of the Exercise and Sports Science department providing consultation and data collection on a study of back pain in retired NFL players and consultation on several studies on concussions in football athletes. He received the NATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award in 2002.

Marc Davis, PT, ATC, LAT
Retired Staff Physical Therapist at Campus Health
Davis’ duties at Carolina consist of providing physical therapy and athletic training services to students, student athletes, and faculty/staff in the Campus Health Service. Davis received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974. After graduating from Carolina, he worked as a physical therapist at Danville Memorial Hospital in Danville, VA., from October of 1974 to May of 1975. He began his current tenure on the sports medicine staff at Carolina in July of 1975. Davis, a native of Wilmington, NC, and alumnus of New Hanover High School, is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Athletic Trainers Association. He was the recipient of the award for the outstanding physical therapist of the year for 1998 by the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association. Marc Davis served as the head athletic trainer for the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team, from 1977-2008. He has also served as the head athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. Davis is married to the former Paula Gee. They have an 18-year-old daughter, Irma Consuelo.
Kelsee Gomes, RD, CSSD, CLT
Director of Sports Nutrition
Kelsee Gomes joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in February 2015 as Director of Sports Nutrition. She works closely with UNC’s varsity athletic teams, providing sports nutrition education, nutrition counseling and meal planning assistance.
Kelsee has experience with the college level firsthand as she was a former collegiate swimmer at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she received her bachelor’s degree in Heath Education and a minor in Chemistry. She then went on to complete her Master’s degree in Sports Nutrition from Florida State University. During her dietetic internship at FSU, she was a sports nutrition intern with the athletic department and also had the opportunity to work with professional athletes at Athlete’s Performance in Phoenix, AZ. Kelsee is credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD), a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), a certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) specializing in food sensitives and is also certified in adult weight management by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Prior to coming to UNC, Kelsee served as the Coordinator of Sports Nutrition at the University of Florida from 2012-15, where she oversaw the nutrition for eight varsity sports (baseball, softball, volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, men’s and women’s tennis) and assisted with football. During this time she worked with the 2013 men’s outdoor national championship track team, the 2013 and 2014 gymnastics national championship team and the 2014 softball national championship team. Kelsee Gomes is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and received the 2014 Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award from the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND). She is also active in the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA). She is still an avid runner and has run 10 marathons. Kelsee currently resides in Chapel Hill, N.C
Rachel Manor, BS, RD, CSSD
Sports Nutritionist
Rachel Manor joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in April 2013. She works closely with UNC’s varsity athletic teams, providing sports nutrition education, nutrition counseling, and meal planning assistance.
Rachel holds a BS in Life Science from the University of Portland in Portland, Ore., where she was also a varsity athlete and team captain on the women’s basketball team. Upon completing her bachelor’s degree, she discovered a passion for sports nutrition and a desire to help collegiate athletes with the life skills of fueling for performance. In doing so, she hopes to promote a culture of moderation, balance and kindness in university athletic departments.
Rachel completed a didactic program of dietetics at Middle Tennessee State University before completing her dietetic internship and Masters of Science in Exercise Science and Nutrition at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Rachel is credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) as well as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
Prior to coming to UNC, Rachel served as a Sports Dietitian at the University of Oregon, primarily responsible for basketball, volleyball, tennis, softball, track and field, cross country and soccer. She coordinated individualized recovery nutrition plans, conducted body composition and hydration testing as well as provided nutrition education and nutrition counseling for athletes and staff.
Rachel is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA).
Alex Hall, MEd, LAT, ATC
Head Athletic Trainer for Softball and Swimming & Diving
Alex Hall joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in July 2019 with primary sport coverage of softball, swimming and diving teams. Hall spent the previous two years at High Point University where she was the assistant athletic trainer for men’s soccer and baseball. She was then promoted to athletic trainer for the women’s basketball team with oversight of the spirit teams.
Hall was a graduate assistant for North Carolina State University from 2015-2017, where she provided medical coverage for the softball team. Prior to NC State, she completed an internship at the Ohio State University where she was able to work with the swimming, diving and synchronized swimming teams. While at OSU, Hall was able to gain experience by working the women’s Big 10 swimming championship, U.S. Collegiate synchronized swimming championship and the NCAA fencing championship.
She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training. While at USC she worked with the football, baseball, volleyball, swimming and diving programs. Hall is originally from Elgin, South Carolina and is residing in Chapel Hill with her adorable dog Memphis.
Shannon Murphy, Ed.M., ATC, LAT
Athletic Trainer for Women’s Gymnastics, Women’s Lacrosse
Shannon Murphy joined the University of North Carolina athletic training staff in August 2019. Her primary clinical responsibilities are with the women’s gymnastics and women’s lacrosse teams.
Murphy is a graduate of Duquesne University, where she earned a B.S in Athletic Training in 2014. From 2010-2012, Murphy was also a member of the women’s varsity lacrosse team. Murphy obtained her Ed.M. from Boston University in 2016 where she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working with a wide range of teams, including swimming and diving and field hockey.
Following graduate school, Murphy moved out west to California where she completed the Advanced Post Graduate Athletic Training Program at Stanford University. While at Stanford, Murphy was introduced to a wide range of clinical advancements. She took a special interest in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization in conjunction with functional rehabilitation. Clinical and research interests included concussion evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation. She also advocates for mental health services and development of mental health resources for student athletes.
She has been an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since 2014. She continues to hold research interests in concussion and ACL prevention, and post-operative ACL return to play. Murphy is a Baltimore, MD native who currently resides in Durham, NC.
Lauren Holt, MA, ATC, LAT
Athletic Trainer for Wrestling and Women’s Tennis
Lauren Holt joined the UNC staff as an athletic trainer in the fall of 2019. She is the staff athletic trainer for the men’s wrestling and women’s tennis team.
Holt earned a B.S. in Athletic Training from Springfield College in the spring of 2017. While at Springfield she was a member of the women’s volleyball team. She then attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and received her M.A. in Exercise and Sport Sciences with a concentration in Athletic Training. During her time at UNC, Holt worked with the men’s soccer and men’s tennis programs.
Holt has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since 2017. Her interests include cupping therapy, functional movement assessments, and pathologies of the wrist and shoulder.
She is a Connecticut native who currently lives in Apex with her boyfriend, Matthew.
Megan Toth, MA, ATC, LAT
Athletic Trainer for Football
Megan Toth joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in August 2019. Toth spent the previous three years at the University of Alabama. She began her time at Alabama as a summer intern with the football team. The following summer, she began her work as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer pursuing her Master’s Degree in Health Studies, while working with the women’s rowing team. At the completion of graduation, she then became a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer with women’s rowing.
Toth graduated from Liberty University in 2016 where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training where she worked with football, volleyball, and track & field.
Aleesa Lennon, MA, ATC, LAT
Assistant Athletic Trainer for Football and Cheerleading
Alessa Lennon joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in the spring of 2019. Lennon spent the previous four years at the College of William and Mary, spending her last season as head athletic trainer for football.
While at W&M, Lennon was involved in the care and coordination of long term injuries, movement efficiency testing and injury prevention programs, as well as the continuing education provider for the Sports Medicine staff.
Lennon graduated from UNC with a Post Professional Master’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2015. While at UNC, she worked with the Tar Heels’ football and fencing programs, and completed a master’s thesis on the measurement of head impact biomechanics.
Lennon has been active in the athletic training profession. From 2013-15, she was an advisor to the Mid Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA) Student Senate and also served on the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association (NCATA) Leadership Institute. Additionally, she spent a summer working with the Carolina Panthers for OTA’s and mini camps. In 2018, Lennon became the VA representative for the MAATA Young Professionals Committee and currently serves as a preceptor for multiple athletic training education programs.
While completing her undergraduate education at Western Carolina University, Lennon served as a student athletic trainer for W&M and the University of Virginia.
Jodi Schneider, MA, ATC, LAT
Head Athletic Trainer for Women’s Basketball
Jodi Schneider joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in September of 2020 as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Tar Heel women’s basketball team. Prior to joining UNC she spent nine years at Princeton, where she worked with women’s basketball and men’s and women’s cross country as well as being a member of the university’s Eating Concerns team.
Schneider is a 2005 graduate of Michigan State, where she majored in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training. She earned a master’s degree in human physiology and sports medicine from the University of Oregon in 2007.
She then completed a fellowship at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado in 2007-08 before returning to Michigan State for one year as an intern athletic trainer with Women’s rowing. Schneider then worked at the University of Maine with the softball and football teams from 2009-11 before moving to Princeton.
Schneider has a professional interest in manual therapy and eating concerns. She has presented several manual therapy learning labs at NATA as well as lecturing and working clinically within the Athletic Training education programs at Oregon, Michigan State, Maine and Princeton. A certified athletic trainer since 2005, she has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association since 2001. Schneider is an Ohio native currently residing in Chapel Hill, NC.
