The Curry School of Education Foundation, at the University of Virginian has selected Dr. William Prentice  to receive the 2012 Outstanding Alumni Award.

Professor, Department of Exercise and Sport Science, University of North Carolina Dr. Prentice was the first Ph.D. graduate from the athletic training/sports  medicine program at the Curry School, and he has continued to be an icon in his profession over the past 30 years. The graduate sports medicine program he directs at UNC is top ranked nationally. Says Kevin Guskiewicz, Kenan Distinguished Professor and Chair at UNC,“I can attest to his…excellent reputation as one of our best teachers.” As the author of several leading textbooks, Dr. Prentice has impacted thousands of students in athletic training, physical therapy, kinesiology, and exercise science programs throughout the country.
