Dr. Darin Padua makes The Wall Street Journal in an article titled, “New Steps to Prevent Knee Injuries in Teen Sports” by Katherine Hobson. Darin’s PEAKc warm up rountine (Performance Enhancement And Kinetic Control) that was developed within the Sports Medicine Research Laboratory in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science was adopted by the Capital Area Soccer league and has made great strides in reducing the number of injuries for many teens. Research has been proven to reduce the risk for ACL injury by up to 50% that follow injury prevention programs such as Darins.
